Basketball Game Preview: Archbishop Rummel Raiders vs. Teurlings Catholic Rebels

Archbishop Rummel has gone 5-0 against Teurlings Catholic recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Saturday. Having just played yesterday, the Archbishop Rummel Raiders will head out on the road to face off against the Teurlings Catholic Rebels at 6:00 p.m. Archbishop Rummel is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 57.6 points per game this season.

On Friday, Archbishop Rummel strolled past Carencro with points to spare, taking the game 63-47. Given the Raiders' advantage in MaxPreps' Louisiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 43rd, while the Bears are ranked 140th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Archbishop Rummel to victory, but perhaps none more so than TJ Duhe, who went 6 for 9 on his way to 12 points in addition to seven assists and four steals. The dominant performance gave Duhe a new career-high in assists. Another player making a difference was Jackson Cosentino, who went 8 of 13 en route to 19 points and five boards.

Meanwhile, Teurlings Catholic was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They took a hard 61-46 fall against Mamou.

Archbishop Rummel has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 12-7 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 60.0 points per game. As for Teurlings Catholic, their defeat ended a five-game streak of away wins and brought them to 18-10.

Archbishop Rummel strolled past Teurlings Catholic in their previous matchup back in December of 2023 by a score of 72-53. The rematch might be a little tougher for Archbishop Rummel since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
