Bremond is 0-8 against Holland since March of 2015 but things could change on Monday. The Bremond Tigers will head out on the road to take on the Holland Hornets at 1:00 p.m. Bremond will be strutting in after a victory while Holland will be coming in after a loss.
Bremond is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They never let Hubbard get on the board and left with a 16-0 win on Friday. The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Tigers as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.
Ty Ritter made a big impact no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out six batters over two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and only one walk). He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up a single hit in three consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, scoring two runs while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. He also brought in an RBI, marking his first of the season.
In other batting news, Wes Bodiford and Braylon Estrada did most of the damage at the plate: Bodiford scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3, while Estrada scored two runs while going 3-for-5. Another player making a difference was Cooper Pace, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-3.
Bremond kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Hubbard only managed one hit.
Meanwhile, Holland was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their 13th straight defeat dating back to last season. They came up short against Orangefield, falling 14-1.
Bremond's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-3. As for Holland, their loss dropped their record down to 0-12.
Holland's hitters will have their work cut out for them on Monday. Bremond has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 7.2 strikeouts per game. It's a different story for Holland, though, as they've been averaging only 3.1 strikeouts. Will Bremond keep running through batters, or will Holland buck the trend?
Bremond might still be hurting after the 12-0 defeat they got from Holland in their previous meeting back in April of 2024. Can Bremond avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
