This season hasn't been kind to the DME Academy Blue DME Academy, who are still winless after their sixth contest. They took a 65-52 hit to the loss column at the hands of Central Pointe Christian Academy on Monday. While losing is never fun, DME Academy Blue can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 418th, while Central Pointe Christian Academy is ranked 40th).
Central Pointe Christian Academy got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Glorivel Rodriguez out in front who scored 13 points along with four steals. Another player making a difference was Sofia Leichtle, who scored 20 points.
DME Academy Blue's defeat was their third straight on the road, which bumped their record down to 0-6. As for Central Pointe Christian Academy, the win for they keeps them at an undefeated 10-0.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. DME Academy Blue will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Jordan Christian Prep at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Central Pointe Christian Academy, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Varsity Opponent on Thursday.
