East Coweta has enjoyed a four-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will challenge the Campbell Spartans at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in East Coweta's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last 13 matchups.
Last Tuesday, East Coweta was able to grind out a solid win over Redan, taking the game 59-50. That's two games straight that East Coweta has won by exactly nine points.
Qwes Williams continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, almost dropping a double-double on nine points and ten rebounds. He has been hot recently, having posted ten or more rebounds the last three times he's played. Carby Martin was another key contributor, scoring seven points along with two steals.
Meanwhile, Campbell pushed their score all the way to 63 on Tuesday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They were outmatched by Westlake on the road and fell 92-63.
East Coweta's victory bumped their record up to 13-11. As for Campbell, they dropped their record down to 12-12 with that loss, which was their third straight on the road.
East Coweta beat Campbell 80-72 in their previous meeting back in January. The rematch might be a little tougher for East Coweta since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
