Doddridge County is 2-8 against Braxton County since January of 2018 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Doddridge County Bulldogs will venture away from home to face off against the Braxton County Eagles at 7:30 p.m. After both made easy work of their previous opponents, one won't be so lucky on Tuesday.
Braxton County is hoping to do what Gilmer County couldn't on Saturday: put an end to Doddridge County's winning streak, which now stands at six games. Doddridge County claimed a resounding 71-42 victory over Gilmer County. The Bulldogs have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won four contests by 20 points or more this season.

Jerod Trent was his usual excellent self, going 8 of 15 on his way to 19 points and three steals. He has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last three times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Landon Thomas, who posted nine points along with six boards and five steals.
Doddridge County smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 15 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive rebounds in eight consecutive games dating back to last season.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Braxton County). They put the hurt on Gilmer County with a sharp 73-47 win last Saturday. The team's explosion on offense also rewarded the Eagles with their most commanding win of the season.
Doddridge County better keep an eye on Ryken Rutherford. He was instrumental in Braxton County's win, going 9 of 16 on his way to 21 points and four steals. With that strong performance, Rutherford is now averaging an impressive 2.2 steals per game. The team also got some help courtesy of Logan Baldwin, who put up 12 points along with five rebounds and four steals.
Doddridge County pushed their record up to 6-0 with the victory, which was their fourth straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Braxton County, they now have a winning record of 3-2.
Doddridge County strolled past Braxton County in their previous meeting back in February of 2024 by a score of 76-57. Does Doddridge County have another victory up their sleeve, or will Braxton County turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
