The Hamilton Emerald Knights scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Friday. They breezed by Cooperstown at home to the tune of 82-47. Hamilton has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won six contests by 22 points or more this season.
Cooperstown's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Charlie Lambert, who scored 17 points along with seven rebounds and six assists. Lambert is absolutely dominating the steal category: he's posted at least two every time he's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Cooper Bradley, who scored seven points along with eight rebounds and four blocks.
The victory (which was Hamilton's fifth in a row) raised their record to 9-2. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 71.8 points per game. As for Cooperstown, they bumped their record down to 8-7 with that defeat, which was their third straight on the road.
Hamilton the luxury of staying home another game and will welcome Waterville at 7:00 p.m. on January 23rd. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in New York (Waterville is ranked 104th, while Hamilton is ranked 115th). As for Cooperstown, they will head out on the road to face off against Poland at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Poland is coming into the matchup on a three-game losing streak.
