Basketball Recap: St. John's Catholic Prep Comes Up Short

On Thursday, the St. John's Catholic Prep Vikings came up short against the NC GBB Academy Eagles and fell 56-47.

Loss or not, St. John's Catholic Prep got some senior leadership from Olivia Bolduc and Samantha Shively. Bolduc posted 21 points in addition to six rebounds and four steals, while Shively almost dropped a double-double on 16 points and nine boards. Shively has been hot recently, having posted eight or more rebounds the last four times she's played. Another player making a difference was Cayenne Pigeon, who put up seven points.

St. John's Catholic Prep has traveled a rocky road recently having lost five of their last six matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-6 record this season. As for NC GBB Academy, their win bumped their record up to 7-3.

St. John's Catholic Prep didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 67-54 defeat against TPLS Christian Academy on the 20th. As for NC GBB Academy, they will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Word of God Christian Academy at 6:30 p.m. on January 17, 2025.
