West Shores have had a week off and are no doubt ready to get back on the field. On Friday they will take on Calvary Christian Academy at 7:00 PM. Both of these teams will be looking for a pick-me-up after considerable defeats in their previous games.
West Shores have to be aching after a bruising 8-38 loss to Calvin Christian two weeks ago. Sophomore Esteban Soto and senior Dylan Sundahl were two go-getters for West Shores despite the defeat. The former rushed for 66 yards and 1 touchdown, while the latter picked up 96 yards on the ground. Sundahl has been a consistent playmaker for West Shores as this was the 4th good game in a row from him.
Meanwhile, Calvary Christian Academy came into their this week averaging 32.83 points per game, but Calvary Christian Academy fell well short of that average, and it cost them. They were completely outmatched, falling 6-72 to San Diego Jewish Academy. The state rankings had actually given Calvary Christian Academy a slight edge heading into the game, making this hurt that much more.
With the two teams each stumbling in off of a defeat, both will be hungry for the win. Neither squad could put together much of an offensive attack, so expect every point to count.
