Heritage recap September 24, 2013
Tyler Pershing and Joey Olish provided fans with a highlight when they connected against Blairsville. The connection went for 62 yards, the longest such play in Heritage this season.
The Bobcats scaled the state rankings by moving to 297 from 325 this week, the biggest jump in the league. Blairsville was able to move up by defeating Northern Cambria 24-19.
Ligonier Valley's dynamic duo of Scott Fennell and Alec Bloom proved tough for Marion Center to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Fennell threw for 133 yards and 3 touchdowns and Bloom had 94 yards receiving.
The Rams' dynamic duo of Fennell and Bloom proved to be unstoppable against the Stingers, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week.
He was 8-15 with 0 interception.
Deion Robinson was the most successful running back in the league this week. In 26 carries, he ran for 182 yards as Rick Artley's team beat Marion Center. Teammate Cameron Livingston added to the ground attack by rushing for 25 yards.
Bloom was the best wideout in Heritage this week as Roger Beitel's team bested Dave Malicky's team.
Fennell put up the best numbers in passing as the Rams beat the Stingers.
On the heels of Scott Thompson and Robinson, the Bobcats have had great success on offense. Thompson is tops in the league in passing with 557 yards, while Robinson has rushed for 527 yards this season. Tops in the league in receiving yards is Ligonier Valley's Bloom, with 305 yards on 19 catches.
A big matchup in the league this week will be when Homer-Center takes on Blairsville. The Wildcats are in third place, while the Bobcats are in fourth place.
Penns Manor extended the longest winning streak in the league this week by beating United, 48-0. This was the team's fourth consecutive win.
