If the MaxPreps national rankings hold true, the near future looks bright for Animas. On Friday they take on Hondo Valley at 6:00 PM. Animas are cruising in on a four-game winning streak while Hondo Valley are stumbling in off of four consecutive losses.
Last Friday, Animas faced Springer/Maxwell in a battle between two of the state's top teams. Animas put a hurting on Springer/Maxwell to the tune of 58-6. Followers of Animas probably expected little less of the squad in a season in which they have collected four blowout victories.
Meanwhile, there's no need to mince words: Hondo Valley lost to Carrizozo, and they lost bad. The score wound up at 12-48.
Animas took the match and then some with a 56-6 win the last time the two teams met over Hondo Valley. Will Animas repeat their success, or does Hondo Valley have a better game plan this time around ? We'll find out soon enough.
