It's playoff time, and Gulf Breeze had no trouble coming through when it counted. Everything went their way against the Nease Panthers on Tuesday as they made off with a 3-0 victory. Winning may never get old, but the Dolphins sure are getting used to it with their 11th in a row.
While Gulf Breeze won a shutout, things came down to the wire in the third set they played. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-19, 25-18, 25-23.
Jax Callen paced Gulf Breeze's offense, picking up 11 kills. Callen got some help from Nathaniel Arnold and his 17 assists. Spencer Smtih controlled things from the service line, finishing with three aces.
Gulf Breeze's win bumped their record up to 16-5. As for Nease, with the loss, they broke their five-game winning streak and moved their record to 21-7.
Looking ahead, Gulf Breeze will head out on the road to challenge Reagan at 1:00 p.m. on Friday. The Bison will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something the Dolphins surely won't give up without a fight. Nease does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
