Amistad hadn't done well against Career Magnet recently (they were 0-3 in their previous three matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Monday. The Amistad Wolves rang in the new year with a 60-50 win over the Career Magnet Panthers. With that victory, the Wolves brought their scoring average up to 51.6 points per game.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Amistad to victory, but perhaps none more so than Takki Oliver, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and 13 boards. Another player making a difference was Jamier Diaz, who posted 20 points and eight rebounds.

Amistad was working as a unit and finished the game with 18 assists. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their assist total in four consecutive contests.

Amistad now has a winning record of 3-2. As for Career Magnet, their loss dropped their record down to 2-2.

Amistad will head out to face off against New Fairfield at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Career Magnet, they won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Sheehan at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
