The Burlingame Panthers lost against the Carlmont Scots back in January of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. Burlingame fell to Carlmont 56-52. While losing is never fun, Burlingame can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 466th, while Carlmont is ranked 189th).
Burlingame's loss came despite strong showings from Jean-luc Uharriet and Alain Kazarian. Uharriet scored 11 points along with four steals, while Kazarian scored 16 points. Those 11 points set a new season-high mark for him. Another player making a difference was Ryan Dougherty, who scored four points along with five rebounds.
Burlingame's defeat dropped their record down to 8-6. As for Carlmont, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won ten of their last 11 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 11-4 record this season.
Burlingame is on the road again on Friday and play against Menlo-Atherton at 7:45 p.m. on January 12th. Menlo-Atherton will be looking to keep their three-game home win streak alive. Carlmont will take on Jefferson at 7:45 p.m. on Friday. Jefferson will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak.
