Rochester has enjoyed a two-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will face off against the Glenwood Titans at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Rochester has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last four games.
Rochester posted their biggest win since December 11, 2023 on Tuesday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Lanphier 58-27 at home.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Rochester to victory, but perhaps none more so than Ellie Gegen, who scored 13 points. Taylor Offer was another key contributor, scoring nine points along with seven rebounds.
Meanwhile, after a string of four wins, Glenwood's good fortune finally ran out on Wednesday. They took a 40-33 hit to the loss column at the hands of Sacred Heart-Griffin.
Despite their loss, Glenwood saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Alexis Neumann, who scored 11 points along with five rebounds, was perhaps the best of all. The team also got some help courtesy of Rowann Law, who scored seven points along with five rebounds and two steals.
Rochester's win bumped their record up to 10-15. As for Glenwood, their loss dropped their record down to 17-6.
This contest is one where the number of possessions is likely to be a big factor: Rochester have been smashing the glass this season, having averaged 22.5 rebounds per game. However, it's not like Glenwood struggles in that department as they've been averaging 23.2 rebounds per game. Given these competing strengths, it'll be interesting to see how their clash plays out.
Rochester beat Glenwood 46-38 when the teams last played back in January of 2023. The rematch might be a little tougher for Rochester since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
