Chaminade hasn't had much luck against Sierra Canyon recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Eagles will take on the Trailblazers at 7:00 p.m. After the two teams made easy work of their previous opponents, one won't be so lucky on Friday.
Chaminade barely beat Bishop Amat the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Eagles' defense stepped up to hand the Lancers a 35-0 shutout on Friday. That looming 35-0 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Eagles yet this season.

Chaminade's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Cameron Pooley led the charge by throwing for 287 yards and two TDs while picking up 13.7 yards per attempt. What's more, Pooley racked up ten rushing yards, the most he's had since back in October of 2024. LeHenry Solomon got in on the action too, returning a kick for a touchdown.
Special teams also played a big role in the game for Chaminade, adding 11 points to the final score. The biggest highlight from special teams (and perhaps the team as a whole) came courtesy of Solomon, who ran a kickoff back for a touchdown.
Chaminade's defense stepped up as well, laying out the QB 4.5 times. Kingston Williams was particularly dangerous to the passing game, picking up two sacks himself. Michael Bonnet was another major factor on D, picking up a sack, forcing one fumble, and making six total tackles (3.0 for loss).
Meanwhile, Sierra Canyon strolled into their game on Friday with a perfect record and they left with the same. They breezed past Serra to the tune of 30-0. Given the Trailblazers' advantage in MaxPreps' California football rankings (they are ranked fourth, while the Cavaliers are ranked 38th) , the win wasn't entirely unexpected.
A big part of Sierra Canyon's victory came down to the chemistry between Laird Finkel and his top target De'Markus Barnes. Finkel rushed for 55 yards while Barnes gained 84 total yards and a touchdown.
Sierra Canyon didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Havon Finney Jr. and Myles Baker. Finney Jr. is also on a roll when it comes to defended passes, as he's now defended at least one in each of the last seven games he's played dating back to last season. He got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.
The win got Chaminade back to even at 3-3. As for Sierra Canyon, their record is now 6-0.
Friday's matchup might be decided on the ground. Chaminade has been excellent on the ground this season, having averaged 158.7 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like Sierra Canyon struggles in that department as they've been averaging 178 rushing yards. There's a good chance Friday's game turns into a tough fight on the ground.
Chaminade took a serious blow against Sierra Canyon when the teams last played back in October of 2024, falling 42-3. Can the Eagles avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
