For Columbia Central, this counts as revenge for the 36-33 loss Hillsboro walked away with the last time they faced one another back in December of 2021.
Leading Columbia Central to victory were Kayla Crawford and Saviya Morgan. Crawford scored 11 points, while Morgan scored 14 points along with 7 rebounds and 6 steals. That makes it five consecutive games in which Morgan has scored at least 25% of Columbia Central's points. Kiyanah Edwards was another key contributor, scoring 5 points.
Columbia Central's win bumped their record up to 5-0. As for Hillsboro, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-1.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Columbia Central's road trip will continue as they head out to face Blackman at 6:00 p.m. on December 1st. Hillsboro will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Martin Luther King Jr. Magnet at 7:30 p.m. on December 5th.
