Basketball Recap: Mastery's Win on Friday Extends Winning Streak to Three

Mastery entered their tilt with Mastery Charter Hardy Williams on Friday with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. They came out on top against the Mastery Charter Hardy Williams Knights by a score of 37-26. Given the Warrior's advantage in MaxPreps' basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 116th in New Jersey, while the Knights are ranked 272nd in Pennsylvania), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Among those leading the charge was Johnaysia Butler, who posted 16 points. Brasyia Stern was another key player, putting up nine points.

Despite the defeat, Mastery Charter Hardy Williams had strong showings from Mi'Asiah McCabe, who put up 12 points, and Hawa Traore, who had nine points. That was a full 46.2% of Mastery Charter Hardy Williams' points, marking the fifth time in a row she's posted more than a third of the team's points.

Mastery's victory bumped their record up to 3-1. As for Mastery Charter Hardy Williams, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-4.
