The biggest upset of the week belonged to Wilkinson County, who took down 127th ranked Hancock Central, 40-0.
Lincoln County extended the longest winning streak in A Region 7 this week by beating Aquinas, 20-13. The win marks fourth in a row for the the Red Devils.
First Presbyterian Day's dynamic duo of Brooks Stroud and Scott McCormick proved tough for Twiggs County to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Stroud threw for 109 yards and two touchdowns and McCormick had 56 yards receiving. Alec Martin helped First Presbyterian Day's passing attack out by catching three balls for 28 yards.
Brendan Douglas was the most productive running back in the league this week. In 27 carries, he ran for 160 yards as the Fightin' Irish topped the Cobras. Ruben Garnett also contributed to the rushing game with 47 yards on the ground.
First Presbyterian Day's Stroud and McCormick have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. Stroud has thrown for 788 yards this season, while McCormick, a 6-foot-0 receiver, has 17 catches for 429 yards. Aquinas' Douglas leads the league in rushing yards with 958.
Matt LeZotte's team's Douglas needs only 42 yards against the Warriors next week to surpass 1,000 rushing yards for the season.
A big matchup in A Region 7 this week will be when Wilkinson County takes on the Fightin' Irish. At the moment, James Hagins' team is in third, while Aquinas is in second.
The Warriors moved up to 130 from 182 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in the league. Wilkinson County was able to make the jump by topping the Bulldogs 40-0.
