Baseball Recap: Jamestown Takes a Loss

Jamestown dropped their record down to 4-11 on Wednesday, which also ended the team's three-game streak of wins. They came up short against the Dunkirk Marauders, falling 11-1. If the Red & Green were looking for revenge after losing 17-4 to the Marauders when the teams met back in May of 2023, then they'll just have to keep looking.

As for Dunkirk, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine games. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-2 record this season. Considering they have won six matches by more than five runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.

For Dunkirk's part, Paul Trippy was incredible, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with three runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. Trippy has been hot, having posted at least one stolen base the last six times he's played. Another player making a difference was Henry Leone, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

Jamestown didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 17-3 defeat against Frontier on the 16th. As for Dunkirk, they have also already played their next game, a 13-3 victory against Olean on the 17th.
