Steinmetz College Prep hasn't had much luck against Northside recently, but that could start to change on Wednesday. The Silver Streaks will welcome the Mustangs at 4:30 p.m. Steinmetz College Prep will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each matchup than the last.
Steinmetz College Prep is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They walked away with a 19-14 win over Chicago Academy on Monday. The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Silver Streaks as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.

Steinmetz College Prep got a massive performance out of Juan Pablo Jaramillo, who fired off two home runs, seven RBI, and two stolen bases while going 4-for-4. Those four hits gave Jaramillo a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Elias Flores, who got on base in all five of his plate appearances with one home run, five RBI, and two runs.
Steinmetz College Prep always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .714. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their OBP total in three consecutive games.
Meanwhile, Northside got the win against Northridge on Tuesday by a conclusive 13-7. The result was nothing new for the Mustangs, who have now won eight contests by six runs or more so far this season.
Rowan Yen made a big impact no matter where he played. He pitched four innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. He has become a key player for Northside: the team is undefeated when he allows at most one earned run, but 6-9 otherwise. Yen was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-4 with two runs and one double.
In other batting news, Northside let Tyler Weigand and John Piper run wild. Weigand went 2-for-4 with one home run, one stolen base, and two RBI, while Piper went 2-for-5 with one home run and three RBI. Northside is 3-1 when Piper posts three or more RBI, but 7-8 otherwise. Rowan Dragovic was another key player, going 1-for-2 with one home run and two runs.
Northside now has a winning record of 10-9. As for Steinmetz College Prep, their win bumped their record up to 5-14.
Wednesday's matchup might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Steinmetz College Prep has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .463. However, it's not like Northside struggles in that department as they've averaged .464. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
