Mid-Penn - Keystone recap October 1, 2013
Hershey's Jesse Campbell rumbled for the longest rushing play in Mid-Penn - Keystone this season in his game against Palmyra last week. Campbell ran for 80 yards on the play and finished with 119 on the day as his team beat the Cougars.
Lower Dauphin extended the longest winning streak in the league this week by beating Mechanicsburg, 35-0. The victory was the fifth in a row for the Falcons.
Hershey's dynamic duo of Campbell and Nick Kroutch proved tough for Palmyra to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Campbell threw for 160 yards and 2 touchdowns and Kroutch had 85 yards receiving. Jailen Harmon helped Hershey's passing attack out by catching 3 balls for 75 yards.
Troy Spencer provided a threat through the air and on the ground as Lower Dauphin topped the Wildcats. He completed 2 passes for 12 yards and also ran for 287 yards.
Spencer was a force in the backfield as Rob Klock's team beat Mechanicsburg.
6-foot-3 quarterback Andrew Ford of Cedar Cliff is the league leader in passing yards this season with 1,012. He has also thrown 13 touchdowns. The leading receiver in the league this season is Mitchell Cooper. The Palmyra star has 36 catches for 539 yards.
An important game coming up in the league this week will be when Susquehanna Township takes on the Falcons. As it stands, the Indians are in fifth, while Lower Dauphin is in first.
Carl Deiner's team lost to Mark Painter's team 49-7 last week, the largest margin of any game. Cooper caught 5 passes for 60 yards in the loss.
