The Gallia Academy Blue Devils were the 41-32 winner over the Warren Warriors when they last played one another back in December of 2022, but their luck changed this time around. Gallia Academy was outmatched by Warren on the road and fell 68-35. While losing is never fun, Gallia Academy can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 279th, while Warren is ranked 98th).
Trent Taylor was the offensive standout of the contest as he dropped a double-double on 17 points and 12 rebounds. The contest was his third in a row with at least ten points. Connor Barry was another key contributor, scoring 11 points.
Gallia Academy has fallen quite a ways from their 18-7 record last season and are now at 1-2. As for Warren, they now have a winning record of 2-1.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Gallia Academy will take on Fairland at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Warren, they will head out on the road to face off against Belpre at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Belpre is coming into the contest hot, having won their last three games.
