The Fremont Silverwolves were the 70-58 winner over the Farmington Phoenix when they last played one another back in January of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. Fremont was just a bucket shy of victory on Tuesday and fell 63-62 to Farmington. Fremont's defeat continues an unfortunate trend for the squad, making it three in a row.
When it comes to explaining why Fremont lost, one person who can't be blamed is Hunter Hansen. Despite the final result, he scored 28 points along with eight rebounds and two blocks. That's the first time this season that Hansen posted two or more blocks. The team also got some help courtesy of Easton Duft, who scored 15 points along with five assists.
Fremont bumped their record down to 8-7 with that loss, which was their fifth straight on the road. As for Farmington, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a nice bump to their 10-4 record this season.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Fremont will challenge Weber at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Weber has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 691 points over their last ten contests. As for Farmington, they will head out on the road to square off against Layton at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Utah (Layton is ranked sixth, while Farmington is ranked 19th).
