The Piedra Vista Panthers's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fourth straight defeat. They took a serious blow against Sandia, falling 97-45. Piedra Vista has not had much luck with the Matadors recently, as the team's come up short the last seven times they've met.
Jahmil Crayton Johnson was a one-man wrecking crew for Sandia as he went 7 for 8 from beyond the arc en route to 23 points and 2 assists. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Crayton Johnson has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Isaiah Brown, who scored 11 points along with six assists and three steals.
Piedra Vista has traveled a rocky road recently having lost five of their last six matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-15 record this season. As for Sandia, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 13-7.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Piedra Vista will take on the Scorpions at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Farmington is coming into the match on a three-game losing streak. As for Sandia, they will stay at home for another game and welcome the Mustangs at 7:00 p.m. on February 7th.
