The Rocklin Thunder are taking a road trip to square off against the Whitney Wildcats at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Rocklin came out on top against Davis Sr. on Monday thanks in part to the team's impressive five-run sixth inning. The Thunder never let the Blue Devils get on the board and left with a 10-0 victory. That's two games straight that the Thunder have won by exactly ten runs.
Payton Prior made a splash while hitting and pitching. She didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out eight over six innings pitched. Prior was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with one RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Katie Wetteland, who fired off two home runs and four RBI while going 3-for-4. Those two home runs gave her a new career-high. Skyler Linehan also deserves some recognition as she brought in her first RBI of the season.
Rocklin lost a few balls and finished the game with three home runs. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Davis Sr. didn't launched any home runs.
Meanwhile, Whitney waltzed into their matchup on Monday with four straight wins... but they left with five. They put the hurt on the Troubadours with a sharp 12-4 win.
Brooklyn Steele was incredible, going a perfect 4-for-4 with two runs, two doubles, and one triple. Another player making a difference was Grace Boyd, who went 3-for-4 with three runs and one RBI.
Whitney's victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 19-7. The road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.0 runs over those games. As for Rocklin, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 18-5.
Fans could be in store for some top-tier slugging on Wednesday. Rocklin hasn't had any problems when it comes to power this season, having averaged 1 home runs per game. However, it's not like Whitney struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 0.4 home runs. With so much power on both teams, it'll be down to the pitchers to keep the mound locked down.
Rocklin beat Whitney 7-3 in their previous matchup back in April. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Thunder since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
