The Lake Highland Prep Highlanders are ranked highly in their home state, and on Saturday they took on another highly ranked team in the form of the Long Island Lutheran Crusaders. Lake Highland Prep was dealt a 90-61 loss at the hands of Long Island Lutheran. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Lake Highland Prep's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jada Eads, who scored 19 points along with six rebounds. Another player making a difference was Ari Woodard, who scored 12 points along with six assists and three steals.
This is the second loss in a row for Lake Highland Prep and nudges their season record down to 7-3. As for Long Island Lutheran, the victory for they keeps them at an undefeated 6-0.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Lake Highland Prep will be home for the holidays to greet Booker at 2:45 p.m. on Thursday. Booker will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Florida Rankings (they are ranked 115th, while Lake Highland Prep is ranked fourth). Long Island Lutheran will be home for the holidays to greet Ontario Christian at 11:30 a.m. on Monday. Ontario Christian knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past eight contests -- so hopefully Long Island Lutheran likes a good challenge.
