The Triton Trojans will be staying on the road on Friday to face off against the Culver Community Cavaliers at 7:00 p.m. on October 27th. Both teams come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Triton can now show off six landslide victories after their most recent game on Friday. They beat North Newton by the very same score they won with last week: 71-6. Given Triton's advantage in MaxPreps' Indiana football rankings (they are ranked 146th, while North Newton is ranked 322nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Cole Shively continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, throwing for 195 yards and five touchdowns on only 14 passes, while also punching in a touchdown on the ground. Another player making a difference was Javan May, who picked up 85 receiving yards and four touchdowns.
Culver Community fell on hard times earlier this season, but after back-to-back victories it seems like their luck might finally be changing. They blew past South Central 40-15. That's two games straight that Culver Community has won by exactly 25 points.
Triton's win was their third straight on the road, which bumped their overall record up to 8-3. Admittedly, the team didn't face the toughest opposition across those games, namely North Newton, they, and Winamac. As for Culver Community, their win bumped their record up to 2-9.
Everything came up roses for Triton against Culver Community in their previous matchup back in September as the squad secured a 58-6 win. Will Triton repeat their success, or does Culver Community have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
