East Lyme's Eric Stirten recorded the longest rushing play in Eastern Connecticut - Large this season in his game against Griswold last week. Stirten's team topped the Wolverines as he sprinted for 66 yards on the play and finished with 177 in all.
East Lyme scaled the state rankings by moving to 79 from 109 this week, the biggest jump in the league. Rudy Bagos' team climbed the ranks as a result of besting Griswold 20-7.
Leading the league in both passing and receiving yards, New London's Danny Maranda and Jose Garcia* have proven to be a lethal combination. Maranda has thrown for 301 yards this season, while Garcia* has 8 catches for 143 yards. The Vikings' Stirten leads the league in rushing yards with 233.
A big matchup in Eastern Connecticut - Large this week will be when Fitch takes on Norwich Free Academy. The Falcons are in third place, while the Wildcats are in first place.
The Whalers fell to Capital Prep/Classical Magnet/Achievement First 52-14 last week, the largest margin of any game.
