Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only the Cheshire Academy Cats walked away with it. They came out on top against Avon Old Farms by a score of 35-28 on Friday. The score was all tied up 14-14 at the break, but Cheshire Academy was the better team in the second half.
Cheshire Academy got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Dante Reno out in front who threw for 157 yards and three touchdowns. The team also got some help courtesy of Luke Reynolds, who picked up 100 receiving yards and two touchdowns.
Cheshire Academy's victory bumped their record up to 7-2. As for Avon Old Farms, their loss dropped their record down to 7-3.
