Weslaco waltzed into their matchup on Friday with four straight wins... but they left with five. They enjoyed a cozy 23-5 victory over the Edinburg Bobcats. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Panthers also won the last time the pair played back in November of 2024.

Weslaco didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Seth Moya and Jacob Villa. Villa got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.

Weslaco's win bumped their record up to 7-2. As for Edinburg, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 5-4.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Weslaco will take on rival Economedes at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Edinburg is set to face off against their familiar foe Edinburg North at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
