Football Recap: Tressa Beatty and Haley Kurey Secure Win for Bonita

The Bonita Bearcats made easy work of the Northview Vikings on Wednesday and carried off a 26-2 win. The result was nothing new for the Bearcats, who have now won seven contests by 24 points or more so far this season.

A big part of Bonita's victory came down to the chemistry between Tressa Beatty and her top target Haley Kurey. Beatty threw for 210 yards and three touchdowns while completing 75% of her passes while Kurey gained 135 total yards and two touchdowns. That's the most passing yards Beatty has posted since back in October of 2024.

Bonita didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. In fact, those interceptions all came courtesy of defensive juggernaut Leah Reynolds. Another thorn in Northview's side was Hayden Andrew, who made ten total tackles (1.0 for loss).

The win made it two in a row for Bonita and bumps their season record up to 9-3. The victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 9 points in those games. As for Northview, they dropped their record down to 1-4 with the loss, which was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season.

Looking ahead, Bonita will square off against La Serna at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Northview, they will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on West Covina at 4:30 p.m. on the 15th.
