Haddam-Killingworth has been on the road for three straight, but on Friday they'll finally head home. They will take on the Capital Prep/Achievement First Trailblazers at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Both teams come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Last Friday, Haddam-Killingworth got themselves on the board against Coventry/Windham RVT/Bolton/Lyman Memorial, but Coventry/Windham RVT/Bolton/Lyman Memorial never followed suit. They breezed by the Patriots on the road to the tune of 34-0. The win was just what Haddam-Killingworth needed coming off of a 48-12 loss in their prior matchup.
Haddam-Killingworth can attribute much of their success to Bryce Lacosse, who threw for 208 yards and two touchdowns, and also punched in a touchdown on the ground.
Meanwhile, Capital Prep/Achievement First can now show off four landslide victories after their most recent contest on Friday. They put the hurt on Stafford/Somers/East Windsor with a sharp 27-6 win. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Capital Prep/Achievement First.
It was another big night for Hashim Jones, who rushed for 211 yards and four touchdowns while picking up 10.6 yards per carry. Jones is on a roll when it comes to rushing yards, as he's now rushed for 100 or more in the last four games he's played.
Haddam-Killingworth's victory bumped their record up to 2-6. As for Capital Prep/Achievement First, they now have a winning record of 5-4.
Haddam-Killingworth took their victory against Capital Prep/Achievement First when the teams last played back in November of 2022 by a conclusive 34-8. Will Haddam-Killingworth repeat their success, or does Capital Prep/Achievement First have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
