Softball Recap: Creekside Picks Up Fourth Straight Win at Home

Creekside had to skate by with only a one-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the ten-run drubbing they dealt Beachside on Tuesday. The Knights were the clear victors by a 12-2 margin over the Barracudas. The Knights not only won on Tuesday, but they posted their biggest win since March 11th.

Arianna Carrigan made a splash no matter where she played. On the mound, she pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in ten consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, scoring three runs and stealing a base while getting on base in two of her four plate appearances. Those three runs gave her a new career-high.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Hailey Cunningham, who scored a run while getting on base in all three of her plate appearances. Another player making a difference was Emma Campbell, who scored a run while getting on base in all three of her plate appearances.

Creekside always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .517. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Beachside only posted an OBP of .217.

Creekside's victory was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 11-5. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.8 runs over those games. As for Beachside, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 10-4 record this season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Creekside will host Bartram Trail at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Beachside, they will look to defend their home field on Wednesday against Interlachen at 7:00 p.m. The Barracudas' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Rams have averaged an impressive 6.4 runs per game this season.
