The Winston County Yellowjackets were handed a three-point loss in their last contest, but they sure didn't let that happen against the Phillips Bears on Tuesday. Winston County was the clear victor by a 66-46 margin over the Bears. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Winston County also won the last time the pair played back in February of 2022.
It was another big night for Lynleigh Cobb, who dropped a double-double on 22 points and 15 rebounds. She is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as she's now pulled down ten or more in the last five games she's played. Another player making a difference was Emma Kate Veal, who scored 18 points along with six assists.
Winston County's win bumped their record up to 11-16. As for Phillips, their defeat was their 15th straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-19.
Winston County will take on the Eagles at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Sumiton Christian is coming into the matchup on a four-game losing streak. As for Phillips, they will head out on the road to face off against the Wildcats at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Colbert Heights comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 25 points in their last three games, a trend the team is of course eager to reverse.
