On Friday, it was a hard-fought match, but Mendon had to settle for a 54-52 defeat against Bellevue. Mendon has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Despite the defeat, Mendon saw an underclassman step up: Quincy Blair scored 20 points along with 5 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Ryder Gorham, who scored 7 points along with 5 steals.
Mendon now has a losing record at 1-2. As for Bellevue, they pushed their record up to 3-1 with that victory, which was their third straight on the road.
Mendon will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Calhoun Christian at 7:30 p.m. As for Bellevue, they will head out on the road to face off against Maple Valley at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
