Softball Game Preview: Chaminade Eagles vs. Sierra Canyon Trailblazers

Chaminade is 1-7 against Sierra Canyon since March of 2017 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. Chaminade will venture away from home to face off against Sierra Canyon at 3:15 p.m. Chaminade is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.2 runs per game this season.

Chaminade's pitching crew heads into the matchup hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Saturday. Everything went their way against Beaverton as Chaminade made off with a 9-0 win. That nine run margin sets a new team best for the Eagles this season.

Finley Suppan made a splash no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, tossing 2.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. She has been consistent : she hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances. She was even better at the plate, going 2-for-3 with one home run, five RBI, and two runs. Those five RBI gave her a new career-high.

In other batting news, London Mills was excellent, scoring two runs and stealing a base while getting on base in all three of her plate appearances. That's the most runs she has posted since back in February. Charlie Fontana-Perez also deserves some recognition as she brought in her first RBI of the season.

Chaminade always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .514. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Beaverton only posted an OBP of .318.

Meanwhile, Sierra Canyon posted their closest victory since April 22, 2024 on Friday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 14-12 win over Spanish Springs. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Trailblazers.

Sierra Canyon's record now sits at 5-2. As for Chaminade, the victory got them back to even at 8-8-1.

Chaminade couldn't quite get it done against Sierra Canyon in their previous matchup back in April of 2024 as they fell 4-0. Can Chaminade avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
