Ranchview is 0-3 against Decatur since January of 2015 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Ranchview Wolves will be playing in front of their home fans against the Decatur Eagles at 12:00 p.m. The timing isn't great for Ranchview: they have been struggling with five straight losses at home, while Decatur has snatched up three consecutive wins on the road dating back to last season.
Ranchview's game on Friday was all tied up 19-19 at the half, but sadly for them it didn't stay that way. They took a 44-37 hit to the loss column at the hands of Newman Smith. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Ranchview in their matchups with Newman Smith: they've now lost three in a row.
Despite their defeat, Ranchview saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Alexis Simpson, who scored seven points along with nine rebounds, was perhaps the best of all. Simpson also grabbed two steals for the first time this season. Aaniya Elam was another key contributor, scoring seven points.
Meanwhile, in a tight contest that could have gone either way, Decatur made off with a 41-40 victory over Canyon. The win was just what Decatur needed coming off of a 56-33 loss in their prior game.
Ranchview has been struggling recently, as they've lost nine of their last 11 matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-12 record this season. As for Decatur, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight contests, which provided a nice bump to their 12-2 record this season.
Ranchview was dealt a bruising 56-9 defeat at the hands of Decatur when the teams last played back in December of 2022. The matchup was all but decided by halftime, at which point Ranchview was down 38-3.
