The Auburn Adventist Falcons will welcome the Sound Christian Lions at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The two teams are strolling into their games after big wins in their previous games.
Auburn Adventist is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They breezed by Concrete to the tune of 91-41 back in December of 2024. The contest was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 50-22.
Auburn Adventist found their leader in sophomore John Andrew Dubreuil, who went 9 of 11 on his way to 18 points and seven rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Victor Samuels, who went 5 of 9 on his way to 10 points and four steals.
Auburn Adventist smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 18 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive boards in nine consecutive matches dating back to last season.
Meanwhile, you're bound to get a positive result if you outscore your opponent every quarter, and that's exactly how it played out for Sound Christian on Monday. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that they blew Pope John Paul II out of the water with an 80-25 final score. The Lions have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven games by 26 points or more this season.
Auburn Adventist better keep an eye on Makai Resseau. He was instrumental in Sound Christian's win, going 8 of 17 on his way to 23 points and three steals. Resseau's evening made it seven games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Moses Stiver, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and 11 rebounds.
Sound Christian's victory bumped their record up to 8-1. As for Auburn Adventist, their win bumped their record up to 5-1.
Some high-performance offense is likely on the agenda as both are some of the highest scoring teams in the league. Auburn Adventist hasn't had any problem running up the score this season, having averaged 65.3 points per game. However, it's not like Sound Christian struggles in that department as they've been averaging 71.3 points. With both teams so easily able to put up points, the only question left is who can run the score up higher.
Auburn Adventist beat Sound Christian 60-48 in their previous meeting back in January of 2024. Will Auburn Adventist repeat their success, or does Sound Christian have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
