After each having a week off, the Stratford Spartans and the Cypress Creek Cougars will dust off their jerseys to take on one another at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Stratford is looking to tack on another W to their four-game streak on the road dating back to last season.
Last Saturday, Stratford needed a bit of extra time to put away Kingwood. They snuck past the Mustangs with a 44-38 victory.
Stratford's success was spearheaded by the efforts of Javier Denson, who rushed for 128 yards and three touchdowns, and Aaron Deleon, who rushed for 86 yards and a touchdown. Deleon also put in work on the defensive side of the ball, forcing a fumble and making a tackle. Stratford also got help from Hunter Biehl, who showed off his sure hands for 83 receiving yards.

Stratford now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Cypress Creek, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-3.
Everything came up roses for Stratford against Cypress Creek when the teams last played back in September of 2023, as the squad secured a 67-22 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Stratford since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
