St. Helena took care of business in their home opener on Friday. They came out on top against the Fortuna Huskies by a score of 28-18.
Jhony Covarrubias had an outrageously good game as he rushed for 78 yards and three scores, and also threw for 146 yards and one TD. 104 of those passing yards were hauled in by Dean Sommer.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. St. Helena will venture away from home to face off against Justin-Siena at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Fortuna, they will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Ukiah at 7:00 p.m. on September 13.
