The Rejoice Christian Eagles will face off against the Oklahoma Union Cougars at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Oklahoma Union took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on Rejoice Christian, who comes in off a win.
Rejoice Christian made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Cascia Hall, but they still couldn't quite topple them. The Eagles were the clear victors by a 13-2 margin over the Commandos on Saturday.
Micah Walker spent all six innings played on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered two runs (both of which were unearned) on four hits and racked up seven Ks. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Rejoice Christian is 3-1 when he allows at most three earned runs, but 7-13 otherwise.

On the hitting side, Maverick Guinn was incredible, getting on base in all five of his plate appearances with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base. He is becoming a predictor of Rejoice Christian's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is undefeated (and 4-14 when he doesn't). Another player making a difference was Ethan Lawson, who scored a run and stole two bases while going 2-for-3.
Rejoice Christian kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in three consecutive matchups.
Meanwhile, Oklahoma Union suffered their closest defeat since March 30, 2024 on Thursday. They fell just short of Kiefer by a score of 8-6.
Baylor Murray made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-4 with one home run, two RBI, and one double. That home run was his first of the season. The team also got some help courtesy of Tanner Dickson, who went 1-for-4 with one home run and two RBI.
Oklahoma Union has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 11-5 record this season. Even worse, they were so close so many times: the losses came by an average of only 1.33 runs. As for Rejoice Christian, their win bumped their record up to 10-14.
Monday's game might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Rejoice Christian has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .467. However, it's not like Oklahoma Union struggles in that department as they've averaged .482. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
