The McIntosh County Academy Buccaneers will venture away from home to challenge the Screven County Gamecocks at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
McIntosh County Academy took a loss when they played away from home on Saturday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Tuesday. They secured a 39-33 W over Savannah.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead McIntosh County Academy to victory, but perhaps none more so than J?Myiah Moore, who posted ten points in addition to seven rebounds and seven steals. Moore has been hot, having posted two or more steals the last seven times she's played. Another player making a difference was Cassie McIntosh, who put up ten points and five rebounds.
McIntosh County Academy smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 13 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive rebounds in three consecutive matches.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Screven County). They breezed by Claxton to the tune of 73-21 on Tuesday. The Gamecocks have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won five contests by 29 points or more this season.
Screven County's win came from a few key players McIntosh County Academy will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Olivia Jackson, who almost dropped a double-double on 21 points and nine rebounds. That's the most points she has posted since back in January of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Jaliah Roberts, who went 8 of 18 on her way to 20 points in addition to five boards and five steals.
McIntosh County Academy has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games, which provided a nice bump to their 6-8 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 51.6 points per game. As for Screven County, their victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 9-3.
McIntosh County Academy took a serious blow against Screven County in their previous matchup back in January of 2022, falling 56-19. Can McIntosh County Academy avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
