There's no place like home for the Lutheran Lions, who bounced back after a tough loss on the road last Saturday. They snuck past Palmer Ridge with a 51-45 win on Wednesday. That's another feather in the cap for Lutheran, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
Lutheran's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Berkley Schneider led the charge by scoring nine points along with six rebounds and five assists. Schneider has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last three times she's played. Jayda Vigil was another key contributor, scoring 11 points along with two steals.
When it comes to explaining why Palmer Ridge lost, one person who can't be blamed is Delanie Mcmullen. Despite the final result, she scored 15 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Kylie Mayer, who scored eight points.
Lutheran's victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 7-7. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 55.3 points per game. As for Palmer Ridge, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-5.
Lutheran will be playing in front of their home fans against Discovery Canyon at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Discovery Canyon focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 22 on Wednesday. As for Palmer Ridge, they will head out on the road to face off against Lewis-Palmer at 5:30 p.m. on Friday.
