Softball Recap: Bradshaw Mountain Wins Going Away Against St. Mary's

Bradshaw Mountain won the last time they faced St. Mary and things went their way on Wednesday too. Bradshaw Mountain was the clear victor by an 11-3 margin over St. Mary's. The result was nothing new for the Bears, who have now won three games by eight runs or more so far this season.

Kodee Statler made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, keeping things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out 15 over six innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than nine strikeouts any time she's pitched this season. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-5 with one double and one RBI.

In other batting news, Laila Silva was incredible, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while going 4-for-5. She has been hot recently, having posted three or more hits the last three times she's played. Bella Bianchi was another key player, scoring a run while going 3-for-4.

Bradshaw Mountain was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .395. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as St. Mary's only posted a batting average of .192.

Bradshaw Mountain is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 4-2 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.5 runs on average over those games. St. Mary's is on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 8-6.

Bradshaw Mountain wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next match, a 14-3 defeat against Greenway on the 28th. As for St. Mary's, they have also already played their next game, a 6-5 loss against Marcos de Niza on the 27th.
