After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Grand Junction Central, the Discovery Canyon Thunder were happy to have found some success on Friday. They took their game on the road with ease, bagging a 89-18 victory over Smoky Hill. With that victory, Discovery Canyon brought their scoring average up to 56 points per game.
Discovery Canyon found their leader in underclassman Taylor Mccann, who scored 22 points along with 8 steals and 5 rebounds. Natalie Neuhaus was another key contributor, scoring 15 points along with 7 steals.
The win got Discovery Canyon back to even at 1-1. As for Smoky Hill, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-3.
Discovery Canyon's road trip will continue as they head out to face Pueblo County at 11:30 a.m. on December 2nd. Hopefully Pueblo County focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 32 on Friday. As for Smoky Hill, they will face off against Pueblo South at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday.
