On Friday Texas Alliance of Christian Athletes take on Westlake Academy at 5:00 PM. It might come down to the wire as the MaxPreps national rankings project a close match.
Texas Alliance of Christian Athletes had to hit the road for their first game, and unfortunately the road hit them back. They were completely outmatched, falling 12-60 to Jonesboro. Texas Alliance of Christian Athletes were in a tough position by the half, with the score sitting at 12-48.
Meanwhile, Westlake Academy had to kick off their season on the road last week, but they showed no ill effects. They put the hurt on UME Preparatory Academy with a sharp 38-15 victory. The game was all but wrapped up at the end of the third, by which point Westlake Academy had established a 32-8 advantage.
Westlake Academy's win lifted them to 1-0 while Texas Alliance of Christian Athletes's loss dropped them down to 0-1. In Westlake Academy's win, senior Braden Deras rushed for 51 yards and 2 touchdowns and junior Solly Ismaili punched in 1 rushing TD and snatched 1 receiving TD. We'll see if Texas Alliance of Christian Athletes have a strategy for dealing with them or if they lead their team to another successful outing.
