The Lyndon Tigers put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. They blew past Council Grove 67-37 at home. Lyndon has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won ten matches by 21 points or more this season.
Despite the loss, Council Grove still got an impressive performance from Brycen Palmquist, who scored 15 points. That was a full 40.5% of Council Grove's points, marking the third time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. Finn Gant was another key contributor, scoring eight points.
Lyndon pushed their record up to 12-0 with that win, which was their 15th straight at home dating back to last season. As for Council Grove, their defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 5-7.
Lyndon will head out on the road to take on Wabaunsee at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Wabaunsee will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Kansas Rankings (they are ranked 200th, while Lyndon is ranked 43rd). As for Council Grove, Council Grove and Osage City will face off on January 29th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Osage City and Council Grove are at an even 5-5 over their past ten head-to-heads.
