Cunningham is 2-8 against Norwich since February of 2017 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Cunningham Wildcats will head out on the road to face off against the Norwich Eagles at 8:00 p.m. Both teams come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Cunningham can now show off six landslide victories after their most recent match on Tuesday. They blew past Stafford, posting a 69-39 win on the road. Given Cunningham's advantage in MaxPreps' Kansas basketball rankings (they are ranked 111th, while Stafford is ranked 230th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Cunningham can attribute much of their success to Luke Albers, who scored 22 points along with seven steals and two blocks, and Will Wegerer, who scored 30 points along with eight steals and seven rebounds. That's the first time this season that Albers posted two or more blocks. Another player making a difference was Luke McGuire, who scored six points along with six assists and six rebounds.
Meanwhile, Norwich waltzed into their match on Tuesday with four straight wins but they left with five. They claimed a resounding 47-15 win over Kinsley on the road. That 32 points margin sets a new team best for Norwich this season.
The victory makes it two in a row for Cunningham and bumps their season record up to 7-2. As for Norwich, they pushed their record up to 7-2 with that win, which was their third straight on the road.
Cunningham came up short against Norwich in their previous matchup back in February of 2023, falling 48-43. Can Cunningham avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
