Warrensburg is a perfect 7-0 against Argyle since April of 2019 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. The Burgers are taking a road trip to face off against the Scots at 4:30 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Warrensburg has four straight wins, Argyle has eight straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
Warrensburg had to skate by with only a two-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the eight-run drubbing they dealt North Warren Central on Thursday. The Burgers were the clear victors by a 14-6 margin over the Cougars. The Burgers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won nine matches by six runs or more this season.

Kawliga Duell made a splash no matter where he played. He didn't allow a single earned run while striking out ten over seven innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in four consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with one run and one RBI. That's the most hits he has posted since back in April.
In other batting news, Caleb Remington was a standout: he went 3-for-5 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI. He is also on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last four games he's played. Another player making a difference was Ben Holcomb, who went 3-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one stolen base.
Warrensburg kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 16 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.
Meanwhile, Thursday just wasn't the day for Argyle's offense. They lost 17-0 to Fort Ann on Thursday.
Warrensburg's victory was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 11-3. The road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 4.0 runs on average over those games. As for Argyle, their loss dropped their record down to 3-9.
Everything went Warrensburg's way against Argyle when the teams last played two weeks ago, as Warrensburg made off with a 14-3 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Burgers since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
