The Manchester Greyhounds's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Monday after their fourth straight loss. They were outmatched by West Union on the road and fell 62-28. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Manchester in their matchups with West Union: they've now lost five in a row.
West Union got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Ashlah Staten out in front who dropped a double-double on 14 points and ten rebounds. Staten set a new season high mark in assists with five. Another player making a difference was Madison Stout, who scored nine points along with eight rebounds and five steals.
Manchester's defeat was their fourth straight on the road dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 4-5. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 23.3 points per game. As for West Union, their victory bumped their record up to 2-4.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Manchester will finish 2023 at home by hosting North Adams at 6:15 p.m. on December 28th. North Adams is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last three games. West Union will be home for the holidays to greet East at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
